BC Culture Days, a province-wide celebration of arts, culture, and heritage, is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture and the BC Arts Council. It’s a chance for communities to showcase their unique cultural identities and connect with their neighbours. The event is held annually on the first full weekend of September, and it’s free to attend.

The Polygon Gallery is hosting a free program called “Meet Me at The Gallery” for seniors and adults. The program offers a variety of activities, including art talks, demonstrations, and workshops. Admission is by donation.

The showcase is a public event open to all and requires registration. ## The Workshop and Showcase: Composition through Visual Art

**Workshop Details:**

* **Cost:** $180+ for the workshop. * **Lead Instructor:** Harmeet Kaur Virdee, BC Culture Days Ambassador. * **Target Audience:** All ages and musical backgrounds.

**This workshop will cover:**
– Building a visual narrative: Using scrapbooking and journaling to express personal and collective histories. – Exploring cultural identity: Examining the elements of culture, such as language, traditions, and narratives, and their influence on personal identity. *Understanding the power of personal narratives: Examining how personal stories can shape cultural understanding and contribute to social change.
